What is SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer?
SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer adds cool content to your Internet Explorer browser by placing a new toolbar. You can add your favorite emoticons & other cool stuff to various web mails & social networks, including emails such as Hotmail, Yahoo mail, Gmail, AIM mail etc, Social Networks, forums, blogs and more. In addition you can search the web using the search box on the left of the toolbar.
Does SweetIM cost anything?
No, SweetIM is 100% FREE! There is no charge to use or download our content. Furthermore, no registration is required.

What kind of content do I get?
Our content includes tons of emoticons, animations, flash games, videos, sounds, special FX, backgrounds and other exciting and fun stuff that you can add to your messenger, view and send your friends.
How do I use it?
It's simple, after you download the application from our site, a new bar with buttons of SweetIM will appear in the chat window of Messenger. Pressing any one of the new buttons, will open a menu where you can choose to play and send your buddies smileys (emoticons), animations (winks), videos, Sound FX and tons of other cool stuff, that we update constantly for you.
How do I create Shortcuts?
Shortcuts to your favorite emoticons can be easily created to send your buddies. Please first send the emoticon before creating a shortcut (you won’t have to do it again). Now simply place the cursor on any emoticon and click on the "EDIT" text which appears on the top of each icon. Clicking it will show an edit box where you can type the shortcut text you’d like, and after pressing "OK", you’ll be able to select that emoticon by simply typing the shortcut text in the chat box. When writing the shortcut text in your messenger chat box, always add a space after the shortcut text so that you can see the emoticon replace the shortcut. Note that shortcuts are available only for emoticons at this point.
How do I use SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer?
Simply sign in to your web based email, blog or forum, and select anyone of the icons from the SweetIM menu button on the new SweetIM toolbar. Your favorite icon will be inserted and visible to your buddy, without him/her needing to download SweetIM. To search the web, place your query in the search box on the left side of the toolbar and click the "Search" button.
Which messenger types and versions are supported?
SweetIM currently supports MSN messenger (Windows Live Messenger) version 6.1 and up, Yahoo Messenger 7.0 and up, AIM 6.0 and up & ICQ 6.0 and up. Support for additional messenger types and versions will be introduced in future releases of SweetIM.
What operating systems does SweetIM work with?
The new version of SweetIM works with Windows XP and Vista. If you’ve got Windows 2000, click here to get SweetIM.
Can I still use the messenger functions while playing a SweetIM content?
Of course! SweetIM does not interfere with your normal messenger functions, it only enhances them. We encourage you to chat and use other functions while sending our content!
Does SweetIM make any changes to my messenger?
SweetIM is an add-on to your messenger. Except for giving you the ability to enjoy fun content we do not make any changes to your instant messenger.
Is SweetIM compatible with Messenger Plus?
SweetIM is compatible with Messenger Plus 4.6 and up.
Can I send SweetIM content between MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger?
Yes, SweetIM supports the new interoperability between MSN and Yahoo Messengers, to use it, simply open a chat with your buddy and send content using the SweetIM menu.
What does the downloading bar attached to the messenger mean?
It means that the content you choose is being downloaded to your computer for the first time.
Is SweetIM safe?

How do I install SweetIM?
It's easy! To install SweetIM go to http://www.SweetIM.com and click on "Click Here" button. You will then get a File Download pop-up that looks like this:



Click "Run", and SweetIM will finish downloading! When installation is done, you will receive a confirmation message, and you will be able to start sending cool stuff to your friends.

How do I install SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer & Firefox?
SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer & Firefox is installed automatically when you install SweetIM. It will work even if you don't have MSN, Yahoo, AIM or ICQ Messenger installed.

The File Transfer pop-up never appears, what to do?
If you are experiencing difficulties downloading SweetIM through www.SweetIM.com, please try the following:

Go to http://www.sweetim.com/download/install/SweetIMSetup.exe

You will be prompted with a "File Download" window. Select "Save" and save the file on your computer.

Open the program. It should successfully download and install itself.

If problem persists, please close and re-open your Web browser, and try the above again.
When I click "Open" on the File Transfer pop-up, install does not start, what to do?
If you are experiencing difficulties downloading SweetIM through www.SweetIM.com, please try the following:

I am having trouble downloading SweetIM and I have firewall/proxy software such as Norton Internet Security, Zone Alarm, or other. Why?
This is one of the most common problems when downloading or installing SweetIM. If you are running one of these types of firewall products, temporarily disable it, then go back to www.SweetIM.com and start the download again. You can reactivate your firewall/proxy software once the download is finished.
How do I uninstall SweetIM for Messenger?

• For Vista users - go to "Start" → "Settings" → "Control Panel". On your control panel, select "Programs and Features". Now select "SweetIM for Messenger" from the list of currently installed programs. Click "Uninstall" and follow the instructions.
• For Windows XP users - go to "Start" → "Settings" → "Control Panel". On your control panel, select "Add or Remove Programs". Now select "SweetIM for Messenger" from the list of currently installed programs. Click "Remove" and follow the instructions.
• For Windows 2000 users - go to "Start" → "Settings" → "Control Panel". On your control panel, select "Add or Remove Programs". Now select "Macrogaming SweetIM" from the list of currently installed programs. Click "Uninstall" and follow the instructions.

How do I uninstall SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer?
You can hide the SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer by clicking the right button when placing the cursor on the toolbar, and then selecting SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer. If you still want to uninstall SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer –

• For Windows 2000 / XP users - go to "Start" → "Settings" → "Control Panel". On your control panel, select "Add or Remove Programs". Select "SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer" from the list of currently installed programs. Click "Remove" and follow the instructions.
• For Vista users - go to "Start" → "Settings" → "Control Panel". On your control panel, select "Programs and Features". Select "SweetIM Toolbar for Internet Explorer" from the list of currently installed programs. Click "Uninstall" and follow the instructions.

How do I uninstall the SweetIM Toolbar for Firefox?
You can hide the SweetIM Toolbar for Firefox by clicking your right mouse button while the cursor is over the SweetIM toolbar, and then selecting SweetIM for Firefox. If you prefer to uninstall the SweetIM for Firefox and remove it from your computer entirely, go to your Tools in Firefox menu and select Add-ons. Now select SweetIM for Firefox and click on Uninstall button.
How can I change my SweetIM homepage on Internet Explorer?
To change your home page, click on "Tools" at the top of your Internet Explorer window. Select "Internet Options". Type the address of your preferred home page in the space where it says "Home Page", or copy the address from your browser window. Don’t forget to click "OK" at the bottom!
How can I change my SweetIM homepage on Firefox?

• Browse normally to the web page you want as your home page.
• Pull down the "Tools" menu of Firefox.
• Select "Options."
• Click on the "General" tab, if it is not the first to appear.
• You'll see the "Home Page" box at the top.
• Click the "Use Current Page" button in that box.
• Click "OK".
• Close and open Firefox. You should see your new home page.

How can I change my default search provider in Internet Explorer?
You can choose which search provider you would like to use when you search for information on the Internet.

For changing it: Open Internet Explorer → Click the arrow to the right of the Search Options button → Click Change Search Defaults → Click the search provider you would like to set as the default, click Set Default, and then click OK.

Troubleshooting

I installed SweetIM, the new bar and buttons appear in the chat box, but nothing happens when clicking on it, what should I do?
Try to EXIT your Messenger and then sign in again. If it doesn’t work, please contact us.
Does SweetIM work with all versions of MSN, Yahoo, AIM & ICQ Messengers?
SweetIM is compatible with MSN 6.1 and up, Yahoo 7.0 and up, AIM 6.0 and up & ICQ 6.0 and up.
Why can’t my friends see content I send them?
In order for your friends to see SweetIM content, they should have SweetIM installed. Otherwise, your friends get a link which allows them to watch the content you send them and download the program. They can also download it directly from www.SweetIM.com.
I receive a "You are not signed in" message.
Please try to sign out of messenger, and then sign in again. If it does not help, in most cases, restarting your computer will solve this problem.
I receive a "There is an error, please contact SweetIM" message.
Please EXIT your messenger and then sign in again.
If it does not help, in most cases, restarting your computer will solve this problem.
SweetIM has disappeared from my MSN Messenger.
SweetIM is sometimes incompatible with Messenger Plus. If you have Messenger Plus, this might be the reason that you are experiencing difficulties.

To check if you have Messenger Plus go to "Start" → "Settings" → "Control Panel". On your control panel, select "Add or Remove Programs". If you find “Messenger Plus” in the list of installed programs, you can remove it by highlighting it, clicking "Remove" and following the instructions.
SweetIM has disappeared from my Yahoo Messenger.
SweetIM is sometimes incompatible with Kiwee add-on. If you have Kiwee, this might be the reason that you are experiencing difficulties.

You will need to uninstall Kiwee if you wish to use SweetIM. To uninstall Kiwee, go to "Start" → "Settings" → "Control Panel". On your control panel, select "Add or Remove Programs". Locate "Kiwee toolbar" in the list of installed programs and remove it by highlighting it, clicking "Remove" and following the instructions.

Once Kiwee is uninstalled, please EXIT your messenger and sign in again.
My messenger sometimes crashes.
Smiley Central is not fully compatible with SweetIM. As a result, MSN Messenger may crash if Smiley Central is installed as well as SweetIM.

To check if this incompatibility is causing your MSN Messenger to crash, please check if you have Smiley Central and if so, remove it:
Go to "Start" → "Settings" → "Control Panel" and select "Add or Remove Programs". Locate and highlight "My Web Search (Smiley Central)" in the list of installed applications, click "Remove" and follow the instructions.
My SweetIM menus are empty on MSN Messenger.
You may need to clean your Internet Explorer cache. Here is how to clean it:
Go to "Tools" → "Internet Options".

If you are using Internet Explorer 7, click "Delete" in the "Browsing History" section, then click "Delete Files" in the "Temporary Internet Files" section of the window that appears. Finally, click "Yes" in the small confirmation box.

If you are using Internet Explorer 6, click "Delete Files" in the "Temporary Internet Files" section and then "OK" in the confirmation box that appears.

In both cases, click "OK" at the bottom of the "Internet Options" box. Now, please EXIT Messenger and sign in again.
My SweetIM menus are empty on Yahoo Messenger.
If you have Kiwee add-on, this might be the reason that you are experiencing difficulties.

To check if you have Kiwee go to "Start" → "Settings" → "Control Panel". On your control panel, select "Add or Remove Programs". If you find "Kiwee toolbar" in the list of installed programs, you can remove it by highlighting it, clicking "Remove" and following the instructions.
